Job Description
Based within the Learning Disabilities Service, you will work part time 35 hours per week. There are 4 posts available, for a fixed term period of 1 year, 3 posts involve shift working and will be paid at MA5, the other will not involve shift work and will be paid MA3. Please indicate on your application which post(s) you are interested in. The Modern Apprentice Scheme is focused to target high youth unemployment in the Dundee Area and the funding for training is only available for candidates aged 16 to 19. Please ensure, if you are applying for a Modern Apprentice post, that you are between the ages of 16 to 19. You will be asked to bring proof of age with you if you are invited for an interview.
You will have 3 National 4s (or equivalent) or an NC in Care (or equivalent).
Undertake duties concerned within the operation of the Learning Disability provision whilst adhering to the Scottish Social Services Council, Codes of Practice and The Care Inspectorate, National Care Standards.
The Individual
You will be a team player with the ability to use own initiative and possess good planning, organisational and communication (verbal and written) skills. You will be dependable and self-reliant with a calm disposition. Flexibility and adaptability and the ability to work various shift patterns including evenings and weekends is essential. You must be committed and enthusiastic towards completing full Modern Apprenticeship and to achieving Social Services and Health Care SVQ2 Level scqfl 5. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
