Based in West Lothian, Edgar Stewart's client is a leading European biotech company developing, manufacturing and commercializing innovative vaccines with a vision to protect people from infectious diseases.

Its Scottish facility houses its commercial manufacturing operations and dedicated to the production of the company's Japanese encephalitis vaccine.

In the role of Manufacturing Assistant, the successful candidate will be responsible for activities for the production support of JEV according to set procedures and protocols and according to best cGMP work practices and quality standards.


- Execute production steps defined by SOPs, production records and protocols
- Carry out general maintenance and housekeeping of equipment and laboratories
- Apply best cGMP work practices and techniques
- Conduct on-time reporting acc to the defined and trained document management standards
- Immediately escalate and report any deviations to materials, facilities, processes or procedures to the production support manager
- Be accountable that the individual workspace is clean, tidy and well organised
- Conduct all activities in the most careful and safe manner and in full compliance with HSE requirements
- Ensure that at any time equipment, facilities and materials used in the area of responsibility comply with defined standards
- Support change controls, investigations and CAPA´s in the most diligent manner
- Identify areas for continuous improvement and escalate those to the line manager
- Actively contribute to the development and maintenance of an enthusiastic, supportive and collaborative environment within the team-setting
- Participate in training of laboratory staff in areas of expertise
- Shift work and out of hours work as required
- To undertake any other duties as requested by the line manager in accordance with company requirements

You will possess a degree in Biological Sciences or equivalent experience. You will have knowledge of all cleaning and production support activities - ideally in a GMP environment. You will additionally need to be flexible with work patterns from time-to-time, have previous experience in a clean room environment and can follow SOPs.
