Due to a period of sustained growth, a worldwide leading manufacturer of engineered products has a new vacancy for an ambitious Logistics Planner to join the team in West Lothian. The company invests heavily in staff training and retention and there will be a personal career development plan in place from the start.

There is a defined path of progression in place that could see you moving towards being the Master Scheduler for the whole European operation as this role is part of a succession plan for the department where others have already had career success. It is an excellent opportunity.

As the Logistics Planner, your main responsibilities will include:

- To be the primary logistics and planning interface between the customer and the employer organisation
- Managing the receipt, analysis and processing of existing customer schedules, to include analysis of net changes, liaising with the customer where necessary, inputting schedules into the system and responding to the customer with delivery promises
- Monitoring and reporting on delivery performance
- Customer schedule response – weekly wip status reports, acknowledgements
- Coordinating weekly transport from and to Europe – work instructions, forecasts and expedite parts through UK and Europe to achieve on time delivery 100%

The successful Candidate will have the following education, skills and experience:

- Degree qualified: recent graduate in a numerate, engineering or business discipline is a must
- Relevant previous logistics experience ideally within a manufacturing setting
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Ability to maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers with good negotiation skills
- Demonstrated organisational and multi-tasking skills
- Highly developed computer skills with experience in using the Microsoft Office Suite of products in particular outstanding skills in Excel

In return, you will receive a salary of £26,000 to £28,000 pa depending on experience plus 33 days holiday per year which increases to 35 after 5 years’ service. The company also offers an up to 10% employer pension contribution and a discretionary quarterly bonus based on individual and company performance. The working week is Monday to Friday with an early finish on a Friday.
