SALARY: £16,532 - £18,903 PRO RATA
BAND 2 - HOURS: 15 (MON TO FRI 5PM – 8PM)

An opportunity has arisen to work within the Libraries and Scanning department at the Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy. Main duties include:

- Sorting and checking casenotes files return to the records library,
- Ensuring the storage of casenotes is safe and secure and filed in accordance with the hospital terminal digit system,
- Cull and colour code records for archiving,
- Tracking casenotes on the hospital Trak System,
- Retrieving and sending of casenotes for other departments / Hospital,
- Destruction of casenotes under the Retention of Health Records Policy.
Other duties include Scanning of appropriate casenotes using the Therefore Scanning System.

Candidates should be educated to Standard Grade (or equivalent) level or with relevant experience. You should have previous clerical / reception experience, possess accurate keyboard skills and a knowledge of a patient administration system would be an advantage but not essential as training will be given. A level of English language competency and communication skills necessary to perform this role safely and effectively is required, as is the ability to perform under pressure.

Candidates must be physically able to lift and handle heavy casenote folders and to bend and stretch to retrieve casenotes from shelving. This role also requires pushing of loaded trolleys.

In the event of annual leave / sickness leave the staff may be required to work flexible shifts to ensure that the service is covered at all times.
