Nineties to nowadays: We find out what happened to these soap stars
Published: 29 Jan 2016
We follow the career of some of the most recognisable 90s soap stars.
aka Sol Patrick, Hollyoaks
He was the Hollyoaks bad boy in the nineties, and left the show in 2001. Now you are more likely to see him in reality TV shows. He’s been on Come Dine With Me, Celebrity Love Island and Celebrity quitters – a show following five people trying to quit smoking.
aka Nick Tilsley, Coronation Street
Although now played by Ben Price, in the nineties everyone knew Gail’s son as the blonde-haired Adam Rickitt. He left the show in 1999 to launch a pop career, then had a brief spell with politics after it was announced he had been selected as a potential Conservative MP back in 2005. He now works as head of development for animal charity PDSA.
aka Jamie Mitchell, Eastenders
Another nineties heartthrob that liked to sport the blonde “curtain” look. He played a distant relation of the Mitchell family and lasted for a few years before being killed off in a Christmas episode. Since then he has turned to theatre and while initially starring in shows, he now directs. He is currently directing a production of Full Monty and previously released a short film which was screened at the Cannes Film Festival in 2011.
aka Felicity Scully, Neighbours
Many will remember Holly as little Flick from the Australian soap. But many will also remember her days as a pop star with releases such as Kiss Kiss. Nowadays she makes up a panel of judges for Shopaholic Showdown.
