Sparking international growth

One of the north-east’s oldest recruitment companies has announced a strategic appointment as it reveals plans to sharpen its focus on growth in international markets.
Genesis Personnel, which operates from premises in Aberdeen, Dunblane and Peterhead, has appointed Leigh Reid to the new role of marine and offshore manager. The move will further underline the company’s position in these significant sectors and spearhead further diversification into new sectors and geographies, balanced with continued ongoing growth and sustainability in traditionally fruitful marketplaces.
Educated at Aberdeen College, Leigh brings to the job more than a decade of experience gained in a range of oil and marine industry roles, including logistics and personnel. Her broad experience in this specialised field, coupled with a sound understanding of overseas personnel requirements, are seen as being correctly in step with Genesis Personnel’s plans to broaden corporate horizons throughout and beyond the North Sea.
Founded in 1975, Genesis Personnel is a market leader in the international provision of specialised recruitment solutions to a range of sectors including marine, engineering, construction, industrial, commercial, driving, legal, and oil and gas. The company specialises in the provision of permanent, temporary and contract-based people.
Leigh Reid said: “I am delighted to join Genesis Personnel and look forward to playing a part in the future of this very well-known and highly-regarded company.”
Welcoming Leigh to the team, Genesis Personnel managing director Wendy Marr added: “Leigh’s addition to our team demonstrates our confidence in the industry and she will be central to furthering our foothold in our chosen marketplaces by augmenting our presence in a number of fields, including surveying and ROV personnel.
“Exploring the potential of overseas markets is central to our growth ambitions and our experience demonstrates that these are best examined by having people on the ground at key industry events such as the recent ONS conference in Norway.
“By being proactive in this and other ways, we are confident that we will continue to gain significant traction against a challenging economic backdrop.”
