Business Partner - Strategic Procurement:
About the post: You will work across Council Services atall stages of strategic commissioning to develop robustbusiness requirements that drive and enable businesstransformation; develop more innovative and localisedservice delivery; drive the reevaluationof the balancebetween inhouse,external and shared models ofdelivery and work with partners in the development of models of sustainable growth for West Dunbartonshire.

About you: You're a procurement professional or youhave commissioning / service redesign experience. • You have excellent business relationship managementand communication skills and are pragmatic andmeasured; adopting a flexible approach to addressingchallenges and realising opportunities. You quicklyestablish constructive working relationships at all levels;manage conflict successfully and effectively influence,persuade and negotiate with internal and external
• You operate effectively at a strategic level: quicklybuilding trust in your abilities and your professionalcredibility; you are adept at working in a politicalenvironment and promoting the procurement function asa strategic enabler of business transformation. Youunderstand what it means to work in a complex, diverseorganisation and take a strategic approach to decision
• You have a demonstrable track record in developingand implementing Category Strategies and/orCommissioning Plans. You work constructively withstakeholders to develop innovative, evidence basedbusiness specifications. You have experience ofmanaging a strategic supply base.
• You are experienced in leading change with provenproject management and leadership skills. You developand motivate teams to successfully achieve agreedoutcomes.
• You have excellent commercial acumen and cancritically analyse, evaluate and present complexinformation in a useable format; using a range of datafrom a variety of disciplines including business financeand costs structures. You are proficient in MicrosoftOffice.
• You have high standards of professional ethics andpersonal conduct. You are positive, resilient, selfmotivated, proactive and disciplined. You take ownershipof your own performance and manage competingpriorities within challenging timescales. You're ambitious,driven to achieve and committed to professionaldevelopment.
• You hold fullmembership of the Chartered Institute ofPurchasing & Supply; or are qualified to degree level in arelevant business related discipline; or have equivalentwork related experience.
