Operations Manager/Deputy General Manager
Role: Deputy General Manager/Operations Manager
Reports to: General Manager
Salary: £30,000 per annum (with a bonus)
As Deputy General Manager/Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the operation of the hotel to brand and company standards, along with adhering to legal requirements, control Health and Safety. You will also be responsible for staffing, training and productivity. You will work closely with senior management both in and out of the hotel (Sales Managers, Maintenance Manager, Revenue Managers, General Manager).
The position will require a pro-active, inquisitive mind-set and great people-skills. Previous experience in a branded hotel is highly desirable with experience in Opera System.
Our Deputy General Manager/Operations Manager duties and key responsibilities include:
•Responsible for smooth day-to-day hotel operations
•To provide strategic advice and guidance to all the senior managers
•Ensure appropriate policies are developed to meet the company's mission and objectives and to comply with all relevant statuary and other regulations.
•Plan, motivate and coordinate the company's management and general staff through leadership and solid business practices.
•Establish and enforce company standards enforcing ethical business practices.
•Development of annual business plans & budgets and being responsible for their realization
•Ensuring revenue targets are met and costs are kept at acceptable levels
•Monitor performance of business units in order to plan and execute improvements to the business model
•Ensure that the business Operations are run efficiently and at maximum productivity.
•Identify new business opportunities and create new business ventures along with the General Manager
•Full responsibility of Health & Safety, Food & Hygiene, and any other licensing requirements.
•To carry out full bedroom audits, building walk arounds, inspections
•To look after every aspect of hotel operations, including check in check out, bar service, breakfast service
•Handling guest complaints professionally, and a can do attitude.
•Ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the customer journey which should reflect on TripAdvisor.
•Ensure that the Brand Standard Audit is successfully passed
•Along with the Maintenance Manager, responsible for the efficient running of all plants and machinery while maintaining their operations
•Keeping the product up to standards
•Must have at least 3 years Senior Management experience within 4-star properties
•Someone from a very strong operations background
•Strong leadership skills
•Good brand awareness and ability to implement new standards
•Excellent revenue skills and sales strategy implementation
