Your new company
Your new firm are an independent chartered accountancy firm with multiple offices in Edinburgh. The firm pride themselves on being able to support and look after their clients, most of whom are sole traders, limited companies and partnerships.
Your new role
In your new role as Accounts Assistant, you will be given the opportunity to manage your own portfolio of clients and to develop strong working relationships. You will be working with clients from a variety of different sectors and industries such as retail, hospitality, tourism etc. You will be preparing and producing full sets of financial accounts as well as producing management accounts. You will also be given the opportunity to get involved in personal and corporate tax for a variety of clients as well as dealing with payroll on occasion. As well as carrying out your own work, you will be responsible for reviewing the work of your colleagues, therefore, it is imperative that you have an in-depth knowledge of the accounting process and will have experience in a similar role.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you must come from a Public Practice background, ideally with a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role. Experienced using Sage accounting software is preferable. Excellent communication skills with the ability to build successful working relationships clients. Commercially minded, with the ability to work on your own initiative. You do not need to be qualified but the opportunity and support is available if you wish to embark on a qualification.
