This permanently funded 1.0 WTE Band 8a post will be based within the West Lothian Health and Social Care Partnership aligned to the West Lothian Older Adult Mental Health Services and will be Sector Lead for West Lothian. This is an established post arising from the retirement of a longstanding member of our service and offers a range of clinical (in particular in specialist therapy and neuropsychological assessment) opportunities and significant potential to contribute to service development and multi-disciplinary work. The post holder will be based at St Johns Hospital Livingston.

Supported by the Professional Lead and Senior Clinical Psychologist the post holder will locally lead the development and provision of a specialist psychology service to older people their caregivers and families in the West Lothian area and to take responsibility and leadership as the Psychology representative in the MDT. This post holder will provide clinical supervision and support in relation to the psychological assessment therapy and interventions provided by newly qualified and trainee psychologists multi disciplinary clinicians and staff within the designated clinical area. You would be responsible for the management of a specialist caseload and appropriate allocation of caseload to other members of the Locality team. There will be delegated responsibilities for providing psychology teaching training consultancy and supervision activities management within a governance structure in addition to undertaking audit and research relevant to the service area. .

The NHS Lothian Older People's Psychology Service (LOPPS) provides a highly specialist clinical psychology service across the NHS Lothian area to adults predominantly aged 65 and over. Our team members are managed as a pan Lothian service and we meet regularly as a service and have both individual and team based supervision arrangements although LOPPS work as active members within their allocated localities and OPMH services on a day to day basis. The post holder will join other members of LOPPS (another Clinical Psychologist and Assistant Psychologist) aligned to the recently established West Lothian Psychological Approach Team for Dementia (WeLPAT). .

You must have an Honours Degree in Psychology and a Post Graduate Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and be registered with HCPC as Applied Psychologist or be eligible for registration. .
