Job Description

Content Manager (Burrell Renaissance Project). Supported by the National Lottery through the Heritage Lottery Fund, the Burrell Collection Renaissance Project is a £66m Glasgow City Council major project managed by Glasgow Life to redevelop the internationally significant Burrell Collection in Pollok Country Park. The museum will reopen in 2020.

The Content Manager is a vital management role, responsible for managing the delivery of the displays and the visitor experience and an ambitious HLF-funded activity plan. You will lead a highly skilled team and work alongside the Design Manager and Project Leader to ensure that the museum becomes a benchmark for access and inclusion in the cultural sector and is delivered on time and on budget.

To be successful in this role you have the following skills and experience:

Significant managerial experience in delivering complex museum and exhibition projects with an important collection. Experience of managing and coordinating a large and diverse staff group to defined deadlines.

Knowledge and experience of delivering best practice in interpretation, accessible exhibit design and learning to a wide range of audiences.

Highly motivated and able to work under pressure in a multi-disciplinary management team.

The project has completed detailed exhibition design and is scheduled to complete in late 2020.

In addition we are proud to be responsible for Celtic Connections, the Glasgow Club and the City's 32 local libraries.
