Job Title: Senior Manager of Regulatory Price Controls (RIIO-2)
Salary: up to £75000 depending on skills and experience + car/cash allowance + annual bonus
Permanent/Full Time Hours with flexible working patterns available
In this senior position, you’ll take the regulatory lead on the delivery of the RIIO-2 price controls and, at the appropriate time, you’ll assist in the roll out of the RIIO-2 Transmission price control settlement in to the business.
More generally, you’ll be responsible for the development and delivery of our RIIO-2 regulatory policy positions. You’ll be expected to lead, build and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, in particular Ofgem, influencing the external regulatory environment through regular communication and engagement. You’ll also represent the company at industry fora and oversee consultation responses and other submissions. Your ability to provide regulatory support and coaching across the company and act as a mentor and coach to those in your team will be key to your success. You’ll also be expected to engage effectively with the SSEN RIIO-2 team, providing strategic direction and coordination of activities within the price control programme.
Your Skills and Experience
You’ll be able to demonstrate extensive relevant experience in utility price control regulation and be qualified to at least degree level in one of the following disciplines: economics; business; science; engineering; or law. You should have a strategic awareness of the interactions between regulatory projects and the impact of broader political and policy developments. You’ll also need to have the skills to influence and collaborate with senior management both internally and externally. Competent in both financial modelling and statistics and you should have a fundamental legal understanding of the field, particularly in relation to licence drafting. In charge of a team, you should also have experience of effective line management.
