Applications are invited from suitably qualified individuals for the post of Additional Support Manager. As one of six locality based Additional Support Managers you will support the Education Youth and Communities Service in discharging its functions in relation to meeting the needs of children and young people with a range of additional support needs in line with relevant legislation. Reporting directly to the Education Officer (Central) you will be expected to contribute to the development of policy and practice guidance and to provide advice and support to schools and establishments to enable them to effectively plan for and meet the additional support needs of pupils.

You will have responsibility for leading and managing a multidisciplinary support for learning staff team in all aspects of support for learning including Health and Wellbeing and GIRFEC. You will also have a functional responsibility which may include supporting and developing policy and practice in the areas of: health care planning, language and communication, domestic abuse, literacy, nurture, promoting positive behaviour in line with the GIRFEC principles.

You must be registered with the GTC and qualified to Degree standard with experience in a promoted teaching post.

You will require to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member prior to commencing in this role.

Any offer of appointment to this post is subject to a satisfactory Head Teacher report and any other appropriate conditions.
