Contract Type: Temporary for 26 weeks

You will carry out general maintenance duties within Parks, Streets and Open Spaces including gardening, street cleaning and litter picking.

Working in all weather conditions to maintain designated areas within grounds and facilities, assisting in the delivery of recreational provisions within Fife, ensuring that all areas are kept in a satisfactory condition.

For this role there is an expectation that all or a combination of the grounds and facilities tasks will be undertaken by the post holder.

Key grounds task include manual weeding; litter collection; cutting of grass; sweeping and cleaning of paths; hedge trimming; constructional labouring work.

Key facilities tasks include the allocation of recreational facilities e.g. boats, bouncy castle, car parks; collection of cash from customers; cleaning of facilities to the standard specified.

Fife Council pays the Scottish Local Government Living Wage Rate to employees earning less than £8.51 per hour. If the hourly rate of pay for the post is less than the Scottish Local Government Living Wage Rate a supplement will be paid.

The Individual

You should have the ability to work alone and unsupervised in an effective and efficient manner whilst also be able to work within a team. The ability to report defects accurately and an awareness of public and recreational users is also essential along with an awareness of Health & Safety procedures and risk assessments. You should have the competence to accurately control money, tickets and associated documentation when required.
