To assist the class teacher by undertaking a range of general and clerical tasks including preparing and maintaining classroom materials, supporting activities that contribute to the care and welfare of pupils and assisting pupils. These will normally be undertaken within the school or classroom.
Fife Council pays the Scottish Local Government Living Wage Rate to employees earning less than £8.51 per hour. If the hourly rate of pay for the post is less than the Scottish Local Government Living Wage Rate a supplement will be paid.Requirements
You will have general all round education with a minimum of 2 standard grades or equivalent, which demonstrates a satisfactory level of literacy and numeracy. Experience of working with children and team working is essential. You should have good communication skills and have a flexible approach to adapt to varying needs within the school as required.
Before confirming appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Organisation and maintenance of resources as required, eg recording of TV or radio programmes, distributing and collecting relevant information as part of the school curriculum
- Escorting pupils within and outwith school premises
- Supporting individual pupils or groups of pupils as directed
- Developing working relationships with pupils, parents and staff
