Learning Technologist - Newbattle Community High School
Jobholder must hold a degree in a computing related discipline or evidence of equivalent competency and be able to demonstrate experience and skills in the implementation and
management of technology and change including specifically:
• Management of an operational environment to agreed service levels.
• High level knowledge and substantial practical experience of learning technologies.
• Experience of managing business critical and complex projects.
• Skills and awareness to understand and manage risks in a computer environment.
A track record of applying technology in a learning environment.
An understanding of learning and pedagogical needs and the support technologies can offer.
Experience of working in the operational support of digital technology, with evidence of a high level of competency in implementation and management of complex technological solutions.
Some experience of supervising and developing technical staff.
The jobholder is expected to keep up to date with advances in learning technology and changes in practice with a view to assessing the appropriateness of developments in the Centre and wider partnerships.

Working Pattern: Monday – Thursday 08:15am – 16:00pm
Friday 08:15am – 15:45pm
Weeks per year: 52 weeks

Please note that it is Midlothian Councils policy that successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale.
Based on you working 36 hours over 52 weeks per year the minimum actual salary for this position is £32,253.50 per annum.
