Category ManagerLocation: PaisleyContract type: Permanent Hours per week: 35Salary: Circa £ 36,000We have a fantastic new opportunity for a Category Manager to lead, manage, oversee and proactively deliver end to end procurement strategies in collaboration with our key stakeholders.What you will be doing...The purpose of this role is to lead on assigned procurement project(s) in collaboration with internal key stakeholders. This shall include leading stakeholder groups, and providing procurement expertise and commercial acumen by reviewing existing commodities and legacy contracts; and defining tender specifications and procurement documentation to ensure best value is achieved for the Red Cross. The Category Manager shall fully support and assist the Head of Procurement in leading and managing the procurement activities for various commodity requirements for the Red Cross, to ensure all aspects of procurement and supplier management is carried out in a capable, thorough and professional manner in order to achieve the business targets, mitigate risk and ensuring value for money, savings and efficiencies.What we are looking for...Educated to a degree level or equivalent by experience and a member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) - (or working towards), you should have:Strong analytical and problem solving skillsProven experience of managing, coordinating and delivering project throughout the procurement lifecycleAbility to collect, manipulate and deliver data that delivers insightful management informationAbility to lead a stakeholder engagement groups and manage stakeholder expectationsAbility to negotiate and award contracts in accordance with procurement policy, procedure and standardsAbility to negotiate and award contracts in accordance with procurement policy, procedure and standardsAbility to develop and negotiate performance monitoring mechanismsStrong knowledge of Sustainable ProcurementAbility to manage contracts delivering auditable savings resultsPlease note; the post will be working within a national remit and may require travel to any location and work outside normal hours on occasion.Closing date for applications is 23:59 on the 28th of June with interviews to follow.
