Contract opportunity for a transmission network engineer to join an international telecommunications company to take ownership of a wide range of requests and projects including customer ceases, technical migration, configuration, delivery of customer data solutions across the legacy transmission DWDM network and next generation global WAN MPLS network.

You will be a part of the team responsible for all legacy transmission, optical network and SDH customer circuit migrations as well as the Alcatel-Lucent / Cisco IP Network Implementation / Deployment / Provisioning / Migration department, which is accountable for the remote configuration of IP protocols including OSPF and BGP on customer solutions over the network infrastructure including the ATM, Ethernet, IP-VPN & MPLS Wide Area Network encompassing a broad range of product & services for Data, Video & Connectivity solutions.

It is essential that candidates have previous telecoms optical networking and transmission knowledge and experience, ideally with Ciena knowledge however this is not essential.

Candidates must be open to learning and training on IP data technologies across support to implementation and configuration as well as potentially gaining CCNA / CCNP certifications.

Initial and on-going system and network training will be provided to all new starters.

It is essential for candidates to currently hold OR be eligible to pass BPSS (Basic Check) and SC level security clearance checks.
