A leading engineering organisation are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Purchase Ledger Assistant to join their busy accounts team in the Lanark area. The successful candidate will become part of a small dynamic team and will be happy to help out with ad hoc duties as and when they are required.

The Role:
The main tasks of the role will include
- Accurately entering purchase ledger invoices onto accounting systems
- Matching purchase order receipts with purchase ledger invoices
- Creating purchase orders via the accounting system
- Dealing with queries both internally and externally
- Creating purchase ledger payment runs
- Working alongside and supporting internal departments
- Reconciling supplier statements in a time effective manner
- Preparation of normal ledger journals
- Various ad hoc duties including VAT related work, expenses, employee accommodation and other admin tasks
The Person:
The right candidate will demonstrate

- An ability to work within a small team effectively
- Strong accounts payable skills
- A willingness to learn and take on additional duties
- A friendly and professional demeanour
