Salary: £36,500 - £55,000 depending on skills and experience + car/cash allowance + annual bonus

SSE's core purpose is to provide the energy people need in a reliable and sustainable way. As part of this, the Energy Efficiency team has a key role in delivering our supplier obligation, known as the Energy Companies Obligation (ECO), to help improve the energy efficiency of the nation's housing. As a regulatory obligation, ECO is high-profile, with non-compliance likely to lead to enforcement action (including fines up to 10% of SSE Group turnover) and negative publicity.
As the National Commercial Developer you will be responsible for the business development of commercial offerings in both existing and entirely new, untested markets. These can vary from Local Authorities, B2B and the 3rd Sector. You will be designing and defining contractual arrangements which would work in new markets (with legal assistance) and negotiating the contractual and operational delivery terms for multi-million-pound contracts. The National Commerical Developer will be pro-active in reading the energy context, anticipating market direction and working with SSE legal to ensure contracts defined balance ever-changing market pressures, low-risk and cost-effective delivery.
uilding strong relationships with unfamiliar organisations in new markets you will enable effective negotiation and continuity of delivery through solid, experienced relationship management to secure the delivery against the defined strategy to achieve SSE's Energy Company Obligation (ECO) targets.
Your Skills and Experience
We are looking for you to have lots of experience in ECO which is supported by a strong knowledge of the concepts and principles of supply chain management in an operational environment. You will have an in-depth knowledge of commercial negotiations in supply chain operations and will be skilled at developing and maintaining contractual relationships. Experience of supplier relationship management will be vital as will an understanding of financial reporting.
Due to the frequent travel needed for this role a Full UK Driving Licence is essential.
Your interpersonal skills will be strong and you will be assertive, with the ability to discuss issues and resolutions with staff at all levels within the company. You will be a strong team player and will be skilled at motivating and leading through influencing and inspiring.
The interview dates for this role will be 25th or the 31st July and the 1st August only and these interviews will be held in Reading.
