Job Title: Overhead Line Engineer
Location: Aberdeen, Glasgow, Inverness or Perth
Salary: £31,000 - £46,500 depending on skills and experience + car/cash allowance + annual bonus
Permanent | Full Time Hours with flexible working patterns available
Your role as an Overhead Line Engineer would primarily be to provide technical Overhead Line support across multiple projects. This would include creating outline designs during gate 0 - 2, including route selection, substation tie-ins, conductor selection and stage by stage diagrams. You would also develop scope of works and detailed specifications for works from gate 2/3 onwards. You would be responsible for the review of contractors/consultants detailed designs and you would coordinate the designs for other disciplines such as civil road improvements. Furthermore, you will support site teams to ensure quality of installations.
Your Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will have either a Degree or a HND in an Engineering Discipline or the equivalent experience. You should have a good awareness of all technical functions in Transmission. You should also have a good appreciation of the legal and regulatory obligations for Transmission along with LCP governance and engineering processes. To be successful in this role you should be a good problem solver with the ability to develop structured risk based solutions. You will need to possess good communication and stakeholder management skills to ensure that critical technical matters are addressed by the project teams who may be faced with conflicting priorities and schedules.
