Job Title: Civil Engineer

Location: Inverness, Aberdeen, Glasgow or Perth

Salary: £31,000 - £46,500 depending on skills and experience + car/cash allowance + annual bonus

Permanent | Full Time Hours

Our Role

In this role, you will define engineering basis of design and scope, as well as validating and verifying the engineering design, construction and installation, within a specialist technical discipline for assigned project(s).

You will be providing civil engineering support across multiple projects including creating outline designs during development phases including site/route selection, earthworks designs, public road upgrade and landscaping for proposed assets. You will also develop scope of works and detailed specifications and support site teams to ensure quality of installations. As well as this you will also evaluate tenders and scope, procure and manage specialist services.

Your Skills and Experience

We are looking for our new Civil Engineer to have the following skills and experience

  • Degree in appropriate engineering discipline (preferably CEng or working towards this).
  • Knowledge and experience of Energy or Networks industries are preferable.
  • Good technical knowledge of industry standards and specifications, and technical specifications, and how to determine applicability of relevant standards.
  • In depth understand of CDM Regulations.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical issues in a clear and concise manner to facilitate decision making by senior management.
  • Personal Attributes / Competencies

  • Diligence and ability to determine critical technical issues and prioritise, where necessary, over less critical issues.
  • Ability to guide work, including outputs, to inform relevant audience.
  • Strength of character to ensure critical technical matters are addressed by project teams, potentially in face of other priorities, e.g. schedule.
  • Approachable, but thorough and demanding in seeking solutions/results.
  • Ability to problem solve and develop structured risk based solutions to address key issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
