Salary: up to £58,371 depending on skills and experience
Permanent | Full Time Hours|37 hours per week
In this role, you will lead the team responsible for producing 5 regular submissions and also irregular submissions as required in line with Ofgem's Interruptions Incentive Scheme, along with a variety of other reporting functions within SSEN. You will take responsibility to ensure data is recorded and reported in line with our License Conditions while also providing detailed analysis and data within Networks to ensure performance is suitably monitored. You will work closely with Regulation and external bodies to ensure compliance and develop the regulatory environment, while at all times delivering an exceptional level of service. You will be expected to fully embody the culture which focuses on that need for compliance, while delivering continuous improvement in all aspects of the role.
As part of the performance monitoring role within the team, you will be expected to pro-actively identify areas which are impacting our overall performance and help direct strategic investment to deliver improved returns and improve safety. As we approach the mid-term of RIIO-ED1 and also a potential change to our Outage Management Software, this role presents a unique opportunity to drive performance improvements whilst becoming part of the dedicated team within our North Control Centre.
In addition to this, you will be expected to fully participate in the business response for serious incidents and severe weather which may require abnormal / extended working hours in a high-pressure environment.
Your Skills and Experience
To be successful, we ask that you have a sound understanding of the context of the regulatory market we operate within and a detailed knowledge of the operational environment in which our business operates. You will be able to demonstrate an ability to decipher detailed industry legislation, identify the potential impacts and then propose solutions. Experience of delivering Business Intelligence / analytic solutions would be advantageous.
Ideally you will have qualifications in both a relevant discipline (engineering / legal) and also management, however candidates with suitable experience in these areas would also be considered.
Your organisational and IT skills must be of a very high level, with an ability to thrive under pressure delivering multiple outputs to an impeccable standard. You should be a strong, confident communicator with an ability to deliver complex points in an easy to understand manner. A passion for developing business processes and pro-actively maintaining compliance is a must. You will be expected to lead by example, in order to ensure optimum performance from your team, whilst also representing the Control Centre Management Team both within and outside of the Networks business.
