Duration: Fixed-term until 31 December 2018
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week
Location:Groats Road Pavilion, Hazlehead Park

Job Purpose:
To deliver a comprehensive Community Ranger service in Middlefield, Aberdeen and associated neighbourhoods, to develop, conserve, enhance and promote the appropriate use of local greenspace areas by members of the public and other interest groups. To ensure the health and safety of users of the park and the enforcement of management rules.


The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:
Recognised further education qualification in Countryside Management, Rural Studies, Landscape Management or equivalent subject to National Certificate or equivalent qualification level.

The post holder will be expected to:
Undertake a PVG check.
Enforce Parks and Outdoor Areas Management Rules.
Undertake and lead by example site maintenance as required.


The post holder is expected to demonstrate:
Experience of delivering ranger led activities.
Ability to communicate with a wide range of people including school children.
Ability to work with minimum supervision on routine and project based work.
Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
Ability to work with members of the community of all ages, both with individuals and groups.
Experience/ability to enforce Parks and Outdoor Areas management rules.
Ability to lead guided walks.
