Job Description

We now have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Control Manager on a permanent basis in our West of Scotland Ambulance Control Centre (ACC) within our regional Patient Transport Service (PTS).

The role of the PTS Control Manager is a demanding one and the ability for you to work as part of a wider team is essential to providing effective leadership to ACC staff in taking patients through our Patient Needs Assessment, Planning patient journeys.

This role will also require you to manage and provide direction to Scheduled Care staff within Control, to allow them to effectively control mobile staff and the management/administration of resources and to provide a timeous service to patients attending hospital appointments.


Candidates must have a positive outlook with the ability to embrace change in an ever developing environment. The individual must have the desire to succeed, support improved patient outcome and drive performance.

A proven track record of effective leadership, decision making and good people management skills is key as is the ability to motivate and develop your team to achieve service deliverables. Communications skills are also pertinent in that you will be expected to liaise and negotiate with colleagues and stakeholders to deliver a high quality service to patients whilst maintaining consistent performance standards.
