The council’s Financial Management Unit (FMU) is seeking to recruit a Systems and Business Development Officer to play a lead role in managing both IT system projects and business improvement projects for FMU and the wider Finance and Property Services. You will be for the successful delivery and financial control of such projects and will work closely with the Corporate Finance Manager and Head of Finance and Property Services to achieve this.
You should have experience of managing complex financial systems and experience of driving project change. You will be required to identify improvement opportunities across the council’s finance systems and play a critical role within the council with responsibility for representing FMU and Finance and Property Services on various IT and business development working groups.
You will be responsible for delivering improvements in processes and systems utilised by the council for FMU and purchase to pay activities. You will lead a team responsible for the design, development, implementation, control and maintenance of key FMU systems, including but not limited to payment and general ledger systems.
You will challenge existing practice, have excellent problem solving and analytical skills, and the ability to identify and propose solutions to anticipated problems. You will be challenged with the task of developing and driving continuous improvement to enhance and develop the customer experience whilst delivering ongoing efficiencies in Finance and Property Services.
