Job Title: Head of Petroleum Engineering

Reporting into the Director of Exploration and Production (E&P), you'll be accountable for providing reservoir and production engineering leadership and management for the company's UKCS non-operated portfolio of assets.
Some of your other main responsibilities will include;
-Contributing to development plans and reserve estimates for non-operated development options
-Managing and providing rigorous estimates of in-place and recoverable volumes in support of existing equity holdings and future determinations
-Leading the technical aspects of managing and developing budgets with JV partners for work activities.
-Ensuring all HSE, Quality, Regulatory, Risk Assessment/Mitigation, Contingency planning and other associated programs are managed per company policies and practices.
A large part of your role will also encompass presenting non-operated partner work to joint venture, relevant internal Senior Management, and functional Boards and Advisory Groups.
Furthermore, as the company is in exploratory mode, you'll take on a key role within the team looking to organically expand the portfolio by leading the technical due diligence of potential exploration targets.

Your Skills & Experience
This is a pivotal role within our E&P business, therefore we are looking for someone who is Engineering qualified to degree level or equivalent, with extensive Production and Reservoir Engineering experience. You'll have previously worked in a similar type exploration role and have a solid understanding of equity determination, reserve estimation, geological modelling, reservoir characterisation, production assurance, well planning and drilling operations.
You'll have proven success working within a growth business and have the ability to provide technical direction, control, management, planning and budgeting in order to maximize company assets.
Outstanding interpersonal, collaboration and leadership skills will be essential in order to forge and maintain strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders and communicate affectively across all levels.
Experience of and dealings with the Oil and Gas Regulator (OGA) will be required.
The SSE Gas production business has a diverse equity share in over 15 gas producing fields across 17 licenses in three regions of the UK Continental Shelf: the Easington Catchment Area; the Bacton Area; and the Greater Laggan Area. As well as equity in the Shetland Gas plant.
