Job Title: Lead Procurement & Commercial Manager

Location: Leeds, Reading, Glasgow or Edinburgh

Salary: circa £65,000 - £80,000 depending on skills and experience + car/cash allowance + annual bonus

Permanent | Full Time Hours with flexible working patterns available | 37 hours per week

Our Role

Reporting into the Head of Procurement & Commercial, you will lead an operational Procurement Team in our SSE Enterprise Contracting business who provide a broad range of services & solutions across Mechanical & Electrical, Hight Voltage, Street Lighting, Electric Vehicle, Mechanical & Instrumentation in the UK and Ireland. Our role is to deliver value for money for the business whilst ensuring robust contracts are placed to support requirements. To deliver this service you will directly manage a team of P&C Managers based across the UK and work with our central category management team, to provide essential market insight to stakeholders and manage the pipeline of procurement events required to deliver a best in class service.

Your Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have significant experience operating at a Senior Level and have strong interpersonal skills to maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels (including Managing Director). You will have both Mechanical & Electrical working experience and fully understand the market and provide innovative procurement solutions to support. In addition, you will have experience supporting bids where required (ie obtaining pricing etc) and have working experience of various sets of terms and conditions with NEC being a must. Furthermore, you should ideally be MCIPS / degree educated or have an equivalent direct entry to a recognised appropriate professional body. Demonstrable stakeholder engagement and managements skills are essential, as is the ability to influence, lead and resolve disputes and problem solve. You will have excellent communication and presentation skills, strong commercial acumen, and a continuous improvement mind set. Due to the nature of this role, travel is essential (including overnight stays) and it is essential have experience working across a multi site business.
