Job Title: Inventory & Supply Chain Manager
Location: Reading, Thatcham or Perth but open to UK wide applications
Salary: Up to £47,900 depending on skills and experience + car/cash allowance + annual bonus
Permanent Contract | Full Time Hours with flexible working patterns available | 37 hours per week
As an Inventory and Supply Chain Manager you'll bring expertise in developing and implementing best practice supply chain inventory strategies for SSE Networks, SGN and SMART Metering. Working in partnership with these businesses you'll have responsibility for forecasting, purchasing and managing stocks crucial to their operation and with annual stock transactions exceeding £230m.
You'll play an integral role in the SSE Logistics Management Team by leading and developing relationships with your key stakeholders including senior stakeholders across SSE. Furthermore, a key part of your role involves training and developing your team of professional Inventory Planners ensuring continuous improvement which will drive operational improvements and identify talent.
Your Skills and Experience
To get the most out of your role you will ideally be CPIM or CSCP accredited and have industry experience of developing and implementing supply chain inventory strategies and demand forecasting. With this in mind, detailed knowledge of inventory optimisation techniques is essential and experience of ASCP/Demantra or similar demand and forecasting systems would be advantageous.
Your experience will include responsibility for driving improvement projects which have been successful in reducing costs. You'll have excellent analytical skills coupled with a strong commercial awareness, industry knowledge and understanding of supply chain principles and strategies.
As a confident decision maker with first class communication skills you'll succeed in translating strategy into operational activity. The nature of this role will mean strategic thinking and influencing skills will be second nature to you and you'll have demonstrable experience in managing change and working across all levels of business.
