Due to a period of rapid growth, our client is looking to centralise the purchasing function, and are seeking a commercially aware individual to take lead and make their own mark in this vital role.
Develop and manage supplier relationships, chasing quotations and continually identifying savings and improvement opportunities
Monitoring and identifying new products and sources of supply
Review contract programme and align deliveries with project start dates
Ensure purchase order database is kept up-to-date
Staying up-to-date with market conditions
Evaluate tender documents and advise on any necessary amendments
Assist the Contract Manager and Director on a daily basis
Strong negotiation and problem solving skills
Strong organisation and time management skills and attention to detail
1-2 years’ experience working in a buying/procurement role (preferably within construction)
Experience using SAGE (200), and EQUE2 Construction desirable
Proficient in all MS Office applications, especially Excel
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external customers
