Location: Peterhead, UK
Salary: £24,923 - £32,919 depending on skills and experience
Fixed Term Contract, 12 months | Full Time Hours with flexible working patterns available | 37 hours per week
Providing guidance and assistance to the Process Support Manger in relation to the provision of effective and efficient Business Support processes at Peterhead Power Station. Advising on the implementation of procedures in line with new or revised legislation or SSE standards.
1. Training & competence
Working proactively with all departments on site to ensure that the station's competency management process is enacted effectively. This will include the development of annual competence and training plans and monitoring their delivery to ensure that these are executed in a timely and cost-effective manner.
2. Finance Management
The maintenance of accurate and up to date financial records relating to the station's revenue and capital expenditure. Submission of financial reports in accordance with agreed timescales and provision of feedback to the management team in respect of ongoing performance and any risks arising. Support of the various budget holders to enable more effective budgetary management on site. Having an overview of goods and services provisions to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of customers' requirements.
3. Procurement & Contract Management
Identifying and engaging with suppliers to obtain quotations and tenders as required to secure goods & services on a timely and cost-efficient basis.
Ensuring that all invoice queries for station are dealt with up to the stage where they can be processed for payment.
Providing support to other departments in all aspects of SSE's procurements systems to enable these to be effectively and efficiently implemented on site.
4. Inventory Management
Overview of the management of inventory issues, transfers and returns to ensure that accurate records are submitted and maintained.
Managing the provision of fleet vehicles (other than to personal car holders) on site.
Managing the provision of security services on site including the discharge of the contract manager's duties under the Thermal Generation Contractor safety and performance procedure.
Your Skills and Experience
-At least 3 years' experience of administration or business system applications.
-Health & safety legislation applicable in Scotland.
-SSE financial management and reporting processes.
-SSE procurement and contract management procedures
-SSE learning and development processes
-SSE Safety, Health & Environment management system (SHEMS)
-Awareness of customer, business leaders and shareholders relationships and needs
-Clear understanding of the business processes and key performance indicators
Essential / Functional Skills
-HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Business Administration
-Proficient use of Oracle based management systems
-Comprehensive experience of budgeting and forecasting.
-Planning and co-ordination
-Ability to clarify the key issues in complex and ambiguous situations and provide succinct summaries
-Possess analytical and report writing skills
-Familiar with the use of IT systems, particularly word processing, spreadsheets and presentations
-Able to relay information quickly and clearly using the most appropriate form of communication;
-Capable of dealing with ambiguity and able to adapt approach to suit the circumstances;
-Competent negotiator who can be both forceful or diplomatic;
-Dedicated to meeting the expectations of internal and external customers;
