Permanent Buyer job in Glasgow offering up to £30,000 per annum working for a global organisation

You will be working for a global engineering organisation in Glasgow with a fantastic client base focused on providing innovative solutions across multiple sectors. Your new role

You will be working in a specific category area purchasing both good and services in line with best value procurement. You will be working in a technical category that will looking after, but will not be limited to, products such as valves, motors and metal.

Working with internal stakeholders on key projects, you will purchase required parts from approved suppliers ensuring delivery and quality is maintained. You will manage RFQ processes and lead contract negotiations with suppliers.

You will work with Senior Managers to develop and execute sourcing strategy to maximize efficiency. Working closely with suppliers, you will develop lasting relationships, monitoring KPI's and dealing with issues as they arise. You will be a key point of contact within the procurement team and enjoy working cross-divisionally.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role you should have experience in a similar role, ideally within a manufacturing or engineering environment. You will have experience in negotiating directly with suppliers and be a good problem solver. You will have excellent communication skills and will build lasting relationships. Knowledge of ERP systems would be beneficial and you will have good MS Office skills. With this role there will be an expectation of travel which will take up to 15% of time in role.
