Under the direction of the Senior Payments Officer, assist the Council in the prompt payment of invoices and to ensure supplier are maintained, reviewed and updated timeously.


Corporate Responsibilities

  • To undertake individual role in line with the Council’s Strategic Priorities and in compliance with the Council’s corporate policies and procedures.
  • To undertake any other reasonably required duties as instructed by Management or someone acting on their behalf, in addition to the role specific tasks & responsibilities detailed below.

Role Specific Tasks & Responsibilities

  • To process supplier invoices in an accurate and timely manner including invoices, PECOS payments, CIS payments, feeders.
  • Update supplier’s details including but not limited to, change of address, change of name, bank details.
  • Run various reports including, but not limited to, the daily payment run, payments by value, and payments by supplier.
  • Reconciling payments including the productions of the journals and all relevant paper work.
  • As directed, ensure policies, procedures and legislation relating to accounts payable are adhered to.
  • Provide telephone and email support to internal and external customers.
  • Minute and transcribe meetings as required.
  • Typing/word processing, filing, photocopying, processing correspondence and other clerical support tasks as required.





Education and Qualifications

  • 4 National 5's (must include English and Maths), or equivalent OR equivalent experience
  • SVQ Level 2 in Administration (or working towards), or equivalent
