Exciting opportunity to join DASAT. Are you interested in expanding your knowledge and working within a specialised area of domestic abuse work? Are you interested in the judicial process? If so, this is the post for you.

The Specialist Court Advocacy Worker post involves contacting women within 24 hours of a reported incident of domestic abuse, and liaising with

Police, COPFS and other statutory and voluntary agencies.

This post is mainly office based supporting victim of domestic abuse by providing advocacy from referral and continuing through the court process.

Excellent report writing skills are required.

You will have operational experience of working with adults, mainly women who are/have experienced abuse. You will have an understanding of the complexities of all forms of abuse and its impact on women and children. You will have the ability to work as part of a team, liaise/work with a variety of partner organisations in order to promote the best interest of women and children.

The skills and knowledge you must have:
  • Educated to HNC level or with substantial relevant experience in a related field
  • Experience of providing intensive one-to-one support to adults who have disabilities
  • Some experience of supporting people to develop skills relevant to gaining employment
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, especially on a one to one confidential basis
  • An understanding of barriers in making the successful transition towards engaging in the labour market
  • An ability to deliver a service within a social inclusion and empowerment practice framework
  • Customer service approach in a working environment
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and with partner organisations
  • Ability to prioritise, manage workload and work independently
  • Knowledge and understanding of Data Protection
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft software packages and efficient IT skills
