Our Financial Planning & Retirement Lab has ambitious plans to significantly grow our software engineering teams this year and into 2019 & 2020

Together, we're focused on improving support to our customers throughout their financial lives, with clear, straightforward customer journeys, helping empower them to make the right decisions on their long-term Saving, Investment & Retirement needs.
Working on our Scottish Widows estate, plus integration to the broader LBG platforms, you'll help deliver the transformational activity and contribute to the overarching Engineering strategy.

If you're looking to build a career on Software Engineering this role will give you the opportunity to build and maintain highly productive software and to work with engineering teams instilled with the ethos of delivering quality solutions. You'll be given opportunities to develop and build skills - through both formal training and working with the team.
As an engineer, you'll be empowered to work across multiple technology platforms and build up a broad understanding of the applications and technologies and given many opportunities to develop your existing skills as well as learn new.

We're looking for people who may not have the technical skills, but are keen to learn, can demonstrate an aptitude for analytical and technical challenges and can operate in an environment that is transforming the way to works and ensures the highest quality of IT deliveries.

So, what are the essential skills needed?
* Passion to develop a broad range of technical and analytical skills.
* Willingness to work collaboratively with others and being able to demonstrate an analytical approach to problem solving.
* Technical development skills would be great but not always essential. We'll provide plenty of opportunities to build skills and develop new ones.
* Knowledge of the Financial Planning & Retirement business is also desirable but not essential.
