Insurance & Wealth Transformation is on a journey to create an excellent experience for our Protection, Retirement and Investment customers through our newly initiated Value Streams. Our aim is to create a DevOps capability and culture that will support the business in delivering high quality, efficient and impactful outcomes for customers across the Scottish Widows digital estate.

We're after a talented Mainframe Engineer with significant experience. You'll look after the full life-cycle of mainframe development, from identifying requirements right through to implementation and support. As a team we're exploiting DevOps capability and tools - as part of this journey our engineers are playing a key role in the shaping. You'll be play a key role in an exciting and dynamic environment. By working independently or collaboratively relative to size, significance, scope and scale, you'll make recommendations and co-ordinate/oversee an efficient and effective delivery of software solutions to meet business goals.

How do you know if your right for the role? We are looking for people who have:
* Experience with IBM Mainframe Cobol programming and Job Control Language.
* Jackson Structure Programming and Design.
* Experience with IMS, TSO, VSAM and QSAM file handling, File Aid, Endevor etc. would be of benefit but not essential .
* You'll have great problem solving skills; good communication skills (enabling you to communicate complex scenarios to non-technical colleagues) and work well as part of a team.
* Experience within the Financial Services industry would also be great, but it's not essential.
