36 hours per week, fixed Term to 30 September 2019

The purpose of this post is to support the Housing Strategy and Development of Housing, Construction and Building Services to make best use of data and information. The Housing Research Analyst will take the lead on the collation and analysis of data and information available in relation to current and future new build housing programmes and for the development of the Local Housing Strategy. Analysis of this data will enable better targeting of resources in regard to the new build housing programme, local housing strategy and affordable housing policy. This will assist in meeting the priorities of Housing, Customer and Building Services and the Council.

The skills and knowledge you must have:

  • The post requires the minimum of degree level education or relevant experience
  • The post holder will require a high level of knowledge and expertise in the use of data and information analysis and have the ability to examine complex and diverse information on a wide range of subjects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to team work
  • Ability to competently operate Microsoft Excel/Word applications to an intermediate or advanced level
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and arrange time effectively
  • Understanding of an outcome based approach
  • Up to date knowledge of relevant local government issues/agendas
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Demonstrates a customer focused approach
  • Basic knowledge of equalities issues
  • Knowledge of housing sector and main housing challenges
  • Be able to use initiative to deliver day to day tasks
