Salary: £34,147 - £46,418 (SSE7) depending on skills and experience

Permanent | Full Time Hours with flexible working patterns available

The Role

Like all energy suppliers, SSE are busy installing new Smart Meters in customers' homes and business across the UK. With hundreds of meter installers out on the road daily we are looking for a technical Assurance Auditor to join the team.

In this role, your main responsibility will be carry out technical audits of meter installations to ensure safety, compliance to working practices and industry codes and general quality of work. You will highlight areas of remedial actions and best practice and will ensure any issues needing to be recited are completed.

Working with the Technical Assurance Manager, you will plan and complete a schedule of field audits and technical assessments so as to validate field operative's competency and adherence to procedures. You may be asked to asked to support technical investigations, either via interviews or audits and will be asked to attend Local Steering Groups to provide technical insight to Operations to support the resolution of issues.

Out of hours you will be required to maintain a technical helpline which will provide support to field operatives and will log the data received to highlight gaps in knowledge and technical skills in our workforce.

Your Skills and Experience

We need you to be qualified to CCN1, MET1 (or equivalent) and MOCOPA as a minimum and have experience in a field based role. Ideally will also hold a recognised assessor qualification for conducting audits such as TAQWA.

You will have an exceptional personal safety standards, along with excellent analytical and investigative skills. You will be personable and able to relate to a wide range of stakeholders with a pro-active flexible approach.

A Full UK Driving License is essential.
