Job Title: Construction, Design and Management Practitioner
Location: Glasgow G2 6AY or Perth PH1 3AQ
Salary: Circa £45,000 + car/cash allowance + annual bonus
Permanent | Full Time Hours with flexible working patterns available
As CDM Practitioner, you will play a significant part in reducing the risk to the business both in terms of health and safety risk mitigation and financial risk and reputation by ensuring compliance with the relevant Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (GB, NI and ROI). You will be responsible for SHE direction across the Renewable Generation business providing the support, advice and guidance required to a wide variety of facilities including Windfarms (Onshore and Offshore), Hydro Dams and Power Stations as well as all civil operations and Large Capital Projects contracts.
You will ensure that there are appropriate systems in place to encourage communication and the sharing of relevant information between the Client, Principle Designers, Designers and Principle Contractors and that suitable arrangements are made to facilitate the General Principles of Prevention.
In addition to the above, you will act as a member of the Principal Design team: leading and supporting where required in the delivery of major projects for all construction related activities and ensuring all reasonable steps are taken to maintain control over the inputs of sub-works designers and that they comply with their duties under the relevant CDM regulations.
Your Skills and Experience
You should be an excellent communicator with a natural flair for forging relationships with key stakeholders at all levels. You will have the ability to organise and prioritise your own workload and provide coaching / mentoring when required. A problem solver and critical thinker, you will be able to address complex issues making them simple through to a well-structured systematic approach, understand risks and implement appropriate solutions. Above all, you will demonstrate awareness of both personal and corporate safety practices.
To be successful in this role, you should be Degree, Diploma, HND, HNC qualified in a relevant CDM / Engineering /Construction Discipline and have a minimum of NEBOSH Construction certificate and NEBOSH general certificate (or equivalent). You will hold a valid CSCS Academically Qualified Person Card (or equivalent) ideally membership of ICE construction health & safety register, APS, IOSH or ICS (or equivalent).

Due to the level of mobility required in this role a full UK driving licence is essential.
