GLENAVON ESTATE LTD, SPEYSIDE
A head shepherd is sought to supervise and take an active role in running the farming enterprises on an extensive hill unit near Tomintoul.
The business runs approximately 1700 ewes and 30 suckler cows, with a further 1500 wethers over some 40,000 acres of hill ground, with additional winter grazings taken. The head shepherd will be in charge of day to day livestock management and the shepherding staff including contract labour as required. The ideal candidate will be motivated, have a solid practical background and good organisational skills, and will work with support of the estate factor and agricultural consultant. Good working dogs are essential.
An excellent remuneration package, commensurate with the candidate’s experience, including provision of recently refurbished accommodation, will be offered to the successful candidate.
