Economic Development Officer Growth Temporary until March 2020
Based at Renfrewshire House, Cotton Street, Paisley.
Renfrewshire Council recognises the crucial role SMEs play within the local economy and has developed a range of support programmes designed to encourage job creation and business growth.
We are looking for a highly motivated person who is seeking a challenging role within a busy economic development environment. Working as part of a team you will be responsible for delivering a business focused advice and growth development service to a portfolio of growth clients, implementing action plans and strategy to ensure effective advice to Renfrewshire businesses and delivery of Business Gateway Targets. Customers will access the service through requests for assistance, proactive promotion of services and opportunities available and referrals from other agencies.
You must be able to demonstrate experience of; working in a similar post; developing and implementing solutions to encourage and support growth businesses; be a confident communicator who is able to work as part of a team to deliver deadlines and a range of targets. It is also essential that you have the ability to; analyse financial records from management accounts to financial forecasts; take a proactive and innovative approach; help individuals to raise appropriate finance; have effective presentation, report writing, oral and written communication skills and have knowledge in the practicalities of running a business and engaging with SME’s.
Knowledge of Business Gateway and how it supports the local economy would be an advantage.
A HND or equivalent in an appropriate discipline is essential and a Premier Adviser or SFEDI business adviser qualification is also essential.
A driving licence is desirable.
