Kelly Services are pleased to be working with our global client who have a new fixed term opportunity for a Finance Analyst based in Edinburgh. 

Job Purpose/Overview
The Finance Analyst is responsible for providing support to the Head of Service including, budgeting, forecasting, reporting and finance administration. The role covers EU North Service Hub.
  • The role holder will receive on-going training from the Head of Service and Head of Finance and role responsibility will be dependent on the capability and potential of the individual appointed.
  • They must be able to maintain strict confidentiality due to the nature of the work and accuracy and attention to detail are of paramount importance. 
  • The Finance Analyst will also have analytical ability and experience of analysing reports to ensure accuracy and integrity of our company data to enable timely production of monthly and annual budgets/forecasts.
  • Close liaison will be required with the Head of Finance and therefore good communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the smooth and efficient running of the financial aspect of the function
  • Co-ordinate and prepare annual budgets, reforecasts, including budgets
  • Ensure any variations to budgets and forecasts are explained in management reports, including any future/potential exposures
  • On a monthly basis, track and review expenditure against set budgets providing managers with an understanding of the months results
  • Analysis and explanation of the monthly results with UK and German management teams
  • Ensure that business cash flow is properly forecasted and adequately supports company work activities and produces optimal results
  • Track and monitor cash flow on a weekly and monthly basis. Provide cash flow forecasts
  • Analyse business performance/results and provide feedback to Senior Management
  • Apply knowledge in order to drive efficiencies
  • Ensure compliance with the statutory authority and audit requirements supporting the finance department
  • Ensure all taxation and legislative requirements are complied with at all times
  • Apply knowledge systems and processes in order to improve efficiencies and eliminate waste
  • Ensure that accounting and finance policies are in place and being followed
  • Support the development implementation of roadmap initiatives that improve quality
  • Develop close working relationship with finance department in both UK and Germany, assisting where necessary
  • Ensure that revenue and expenses are allocated correctly, taking corrective action where inconsistences arise. Alignment with revenue recognition milestones
  • Ensure monthly accruals and provisions are adjusted to meet the demands of the company
  • Ensure debtors are monitored and that collections are consistent within set Company time frames
  • Ensure accurate preparation/reporting of monthly financial results
  • Delegate tasks to others in line with skill, knowledge and ability where necessary
  • Ensure that relevant information is communicated to others enabling them to effectively carry out their functions
  • Quarterly report to finance details of all leased premises and vehicles within the service department
  • Working on ad-hoc projects/tasks as required
 
Experience  
  • Experience of budgeting, forecasting, financial data input and analysis is essential
  • Experience of computerised accounting systems, SAP and SAGE would be advantageous
  • An advanced level of PC literacy particularly in Word, Excel, and Outlook. 
  • Accuracy and good attention to detail is essential.
  • Excellent writing and analytical skills.
  • At least 2 years' experience in accounting role.
  • Relevant Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities.
  • Good planning and time management skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and good communication both verbal and written.
  • Experience of working on own initiative and ability to prioritise workload during busy periods.
