Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a CCTV Systems Engineer to join our Technical Support team to help maintain and improve some of the key technical facilities in Glasgow including our Glasgow Operations Centre and Public Space & Traffic Camera Networks.

The successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out the installation, commissioning and maintenance of our CCTV systems including Public Space and the related disciplines.

The postholder will be required to:
• Install and commission IP HD Public Space CCTV cameras and equipment as part of a wider PSCCCTV network;
• Maintain and service Public Space CCTV systems, and related connected equipment, including the deployment of temporary CCTV solutions as and when required;
• Provide first line systems diagnostic and arrange business continuity either directly, or via third party companies and framework partners;
• Deliver innovative and complex technical solutions in the areas as requested by the Company including Public Space CCTV, Alarm Receiving Centre and Business Development;
• Deliver broad line electronic diagnostics and carry out TCP and UDP protocol diagnostics;
• Complete basic board level fault diagnosis and repairs producing fault reports when required.

Candidates will be required to demonstrate:
Ability to work on own initative
• That they hold a relevant trade qualification (see Person Specification) or have served a modern apprenticeship, or equivalent;
• Previous experience of CCTV service and installation engineering, both analogue and IP;
• Previous experience of TCP and UDP protocols in relation to IP CCTV network;
• Broad or specialist knowledge of methods, techniques and processes in the install of specialist CCTV equipment and networks;
• A proven ability to troubleshoot faults in both analogue and IP CCTV systems;
• A proven ability to plan and organise complex tasks and associated links with other projects

An IT accreditation such as CISCO CCNA (or equivalent) would be advantageous, but is not essential.

This is a full time post with working hours of 35 per week, Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm. The successful applicants will be primarily based at 130 Blochairn Road, Glasgow, G21 2DU; though understandably the job will involve travel throughout the city as required.

The successful applicants will be required to hold a full and current driving licence and undertake a pre-employment health screening.
