Job Description
Wallace High School has been selected as one of the Scottish Government's Attainment Challenge Schools (SAC) in order to focus and accelerate targeted support for an identified group of young people living in the Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation (SIMD) Deciles 1 & 2. Wallace High's strategy to provide the highest quality support includes the recruitment of a full-time temporary Family Support Worker (FSW) and on a fixed term contract until 31st March 2020. This post offers the opportunity to join a vibrant Pupil Support Team whose vision is of equity and excellence by assisting in the provision of a flexible multi-disciplinary Secondary School environment which is appropriate to the needs of young people and their families living in the Wallace?s (Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation Decile 1 & 2) catchment areas. The FSW will provide support for families from Deciles 1 & 2 attending Wallace High School, work in accordance with the GIRFEC methodology, assist and support the development of parental and community partnerships and establish and maintain positive and purposeful relationships with parents. The postholder will be reflective a practitioner, confident, articulate and dynamic and will be able to validate their ability to create, motivate and work effectively within a team, organising work to meet tight timescales, always meeting the needs of our young people. Candidates should be qualified to HNC level or be able to demonstrate relevant experience in the line of this work.
Requirements
