Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC) is unique in Scotland as a provider of education, research and consultancy services. The Veterinary Services group provide national disease surveillance activities and information in support of Scottish Government.
An exciting position has arisen for an Assistant Technician with an interest in agriculture to work within SAC Consultancy Veterinary Services group. Based in Aberdeen, beside the Craibstone estate, the successful applicant will be involved in assisting the vets in the post mortem room, carrying out parasitological testing on faecal samples and processing blood samples for both the Premium Cattle Health Scheme and the Scottish Government BVD Eradication Scheme.
Applicants should have a minimum of 4 standard grades (or equivalent). Previous experience of working in a busy multidisciplinary laboratory setting up samples to UKAS ISO 17025 standard would be an advantage.
This is a full time fixed term appointment until 30 June 2019.
