Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Location: Highlands and Islands/Perth and Kinross/Argyll and Bute
Salary: Circa £34000 depending on skills and experience + excellent benefits + car/cash allowance + annual bonus

As Maintenance Technician within the Hydro Maintenance Team, you'll be accountable for the delivery for a range of facilities maintenance aspects, ensuring they are fit for purpose and capable of securing the Renewable Operations business in a safe and efficient manner.
Some of your main accountabilities will include;
-Management of the Battery, Fire Alarm and Similar Facilities Contracts
-Fire Extinguisher replacement management
-Management of Intruder Alarm Systems with SSE Security Bureau.
-Interface with ROC for issue / cancellation of Impairment Notices.
-Supervision of contractors when on-site working.
-Supervision of system upgrade work & commissioning.
-Ensuring First line defect resolution.
-Update of records in the Document Library.
-Management and action of defects arising from Annual Insurance Audits
Your Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who is qualified to a minimum of HNC level within a related engineering discipline supported by practical experience, or someone who has an extensive background within a maintenance and operational environment. Knowledge of computerised maintenance management systems and health and safety systems will be necessary.
Other requirements include;
-Knowledge and understanding of key health and safety regulations such as PUWER, LOLER, Pressure and Electricity at Work will be required.
-Knowledge of maintenance planning and scheduling related techniques and processes
-Understanding of a diverse range of engineering plant and equipment relevant to generation sites
-Authorisation, or working towards authorisation to Control Person Safety
-Attained, or working towards CITB Site Supervisor for Safety.

With an excellent eye for detail and outstanding communication skills, you'll have the ability to engage affectively with varying levels of internal and external stakeholders, and have the confidence to challenge inconsistencies in an appropriate and professional manner. Most importantly, you'll pride yourself on working to the highest levels of health and in line with environmental practices.
Due to the nature of this role, you will be required to travel, therefore, a full valid driving license will be essential.
