The successful applicant’s duties will include:
• Arranging and conducting funerals
• The removal and preparation of the deceased from place of death to Our Rest Rooms
• The driving and cleaning of funeral vehicles
• All other work in relation to the running of a busy Funeral Directors business
• The applicant must be/demonstrate Physically fit
• Good communication skills, both face to face, over the phone and while using electronic media
• Excellent attention to detail
• Good computer literacy in regard to use of email, databases and word processing
• Ability to work under pressure
• Good team skills, but ability to work using own initiative
• Act at all times in a dignified, caring, professional and confidential manner
• Be flexible due to the nature of the business
• Be of smart appearance
• Hold a clean driving licence for a minimum of 3 years


The successful candidate will require to pass non police personnel vetting level 1 by Police Scotland. Standard working hours will be Monday to Friday 8.30 am to 4.30 pm plus annually 26 Saturdays 9.00 am to 12 noon. The position includes being part of an out of hours rota team, which includes unsociable hours, weekend work and consequently the applicant must reside within 10 miles of Dundee.
