Job Title: Area Service Manager
Salary: £38,000 + car/cash allowance + annual bonus
Permanent | Full Time Hours | 37 hours per week
As an Area Service Manager, you're responsible for leading an effective, customer focused team of gas engineers and electricians. You'll develop, lead and engage your team to ensure high levels of performance at all times. You'll also promote a strong health and safety culture to the team, ensuring that all staff have the relevant product and industry training they require.
A big part of your role will be to build and maintain effective working relationships by means of open, honest and positive communication. You'll use a hands-on practical approach, with visibility and presence to ensure all staff understand and comply with SSE values and strategy. You'll also be responsible for productivity and performance management of your team, as well as management of regional workloads throughout the year. You'll instil a customer focused culture and a 'get it right first time' approach, coaching and developing the team to improve customer experience and operational productivity.
Your Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role you should have previous operational management experience within a field-based environment. You'll be a great communicator and will be committed to delivering excellent service and performance. You'll be able to demonstrate previous successful delivery of objectives in a similar role and will have a thorough knowledge of Gas Safe regulations and/or Electrical processes and legislation. You'll be self-motivated and will take ownership of your duties. An excellent problem solver, you'll be innovative and flexible in the workplace. You'll be very competent on both Microsoft Word and Excel and naturally you'll be highly literate with good numeracy skills.
