Location: Edinburgh, Glasgow or Perth

Salary: £31,500 - £47,900 depending on skills and experience + Bonus and a Car/Cash Allowance

Permanent / Full Time Hours with flexible working patterns available

Our Role

The Property Division of SSE is responsible for a number of functions including Estates Management, Property Projects and the provision of FM services across SSE's diverse property portfolio. As part of the Property Division, the Property Projects team are responsible for the delivery of both minor and major property construction projects and maintenance works to our offices and depots.

Due to SSE's ambitious estate transformation programme, there is currently an opportunity for a Project Manager to join the team, managing and coordinating the construction design teams and main contractors to ensure the delivery of projects to set time, cost and quality parameters.

This will involve working closely with internal customers and stakeholders including colleagues in Commercial and Procurement, IT, Telecoms and FM to develop client briefs and prepare/produce project governance documentation. Your responsibilities will also extend to regular progress update reports, project plans as well as risk and issue logs.

Your Skills and Experience

You will be an experienced Project Manager and/or Quantity Surveyor/Architect or be able to demonstrate extensive similar/relatable industry experience delivering complex projects effectively. A thorough understanding of project procurement processes is crucial, and it is essential that you understand the RIBA plan of work and can deliver projects in-line with expectations and the defined stages of the plan.

You will be responsible for Project Programming, delivering against timelines, Budget monitoring, tracking ongoing spend against budget and liaising with cost consultants to conclude final accounts, you must therefore be a logical thinker with creative problem-solving abilities as well as an excellent communicator.

A resilient and enthusiastic individual, you will have excellent organisational, planning and time management skills with the ability to negotiate effectively and challenge where necessary.

Membership of a relevant professional body is preferred, although candidates who can clearly demonstrate extensive relevant project delivery experience obtained within a structured framework such as the RIBA plan of work or Prince 2 will also be considered.

The projects you will be working on will be spread across the UK and as a result you should have a valid UK driving licence and a flexible approach to working across multiple locations.
