Operational SHE Lead - Contracting
Job Title: Regional SHE Lead - Contracting - 2 positions
Location: Variable throughout UK - One role will cover operations across North UK & Ireland and the other - across South UK
Salary: Circa £50,000 depending on skills and experience + annual bonus
Permanent | Full Time Hours with flexible working patterns available
As the Regional SHE Lead - Contracting, you will hold responsibility for leading the SHE support for all operations across the BU within the Northern/Southern Region in all endeavours to keep people, assets and the environment safe from harm. This will involve managing and developing a small team of Regional SHE Advisors and providing SHE support and advice for the BU and Regional management in relation to the development and implementation of improvement plans, actions and initiatives.
This includes actively applying and promoting the relevant safety, health and environment management principles, standards and best practice across the operational arena. You will have the responsibility to take an investigatory lead as appropriate - managing the escalation process to ensure that incidents are reviewed, recorded, communicated and reported. The role may also involve an active engagement with third party agencies and organisations to ensure that SSE is well represented externally in line with SSE's policies.
Your Skills and Experience
You must have a working knowledge of SHE Management principals and regulations within the UK and be able to demonstrable best practice within an operational arena.
You will hold a NEBSOSH Diploma/Construction qualification or equivalent qualification and will be a Chartered member of IOSH or equivalent professional body or actively working towards this.
You will have a strong understanding of SHE Management systems and practical experience of applying these effectively as well as knowledge of SHE Risks and the UK Legal framework.
You must also have first class interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to make informed decisions and influence at higher managerial and operational levels.
